Susana Maxelon BSc Hons

A former psychotherapist, Susana Maxelon studied Fine Art initially at Plymouth, and afterwards at Falmouth from where she graduated. Susana’s work is inspired by the esoteric and by Jung's studies of Alchemy in the Western Mystery tradition. Further influences are the work of Anselm Keifer, icons, and textile art. Revealed in the works are themes of creation, suffering, communion, transformation and the unity of all things. Exploiting changing light, textured surfaces and the conceptual use of materials they suggest the Spirit veiled in matter and evoke a sense of the sacred and the meditative - calling for a response from several of the senses.
